Sen. Yaw Applauds Small Business Advantage Grants

HARRISBURG – State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) today applauded the release of $44,322 in state funds that will be made available to six small businesses in his Senate district.  The funds were awarded today by the Corbett Administration.

The funding, made possible through Pennsylvania’s Small Business Advantage Grant program and funded through the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act, helps businesses with 100 or fewer employees.  It provides 50-percent matching reimbursement grants of up to $9,500 to implement projects that will save 25 percent annually in pollution-prevention or energy-related costs.

“I am very pleased that several local businesses in my district applied for this state funding,” Yaw said.  “Any funding that is made available to assist our small businesses reduce overall costs and expenditures, while potentially creating more jobs, is money well spent.”

The grants awarded in Sen. Yaw’s District include:

Bradford:
Callears Butcher Shoppe and R&R Bar-B-Que Catering, Inc. – $4,930
Sturzen Furniture, Inc. – $4,675

Lycoming:
33 East – $9,500
Reedy’s Dry Cleaning and Laundry Service – $6,217
Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc. – $9,500
