January 28, 2011 - Senator Yaw was honored by the Pennsylvania Housing Alliance
and PHFA for the passage of the Pennsylvania Housing and Rehabilitation
Program legislation which sets up a housing trust fund for distressed PA
homeowners and renters. Later that day, the Senator gave officials from
PHFA a tour of the district, focusing on the housing issues in Bradford
County created by the development of the Marcellus Shale by visiting a
Chesapeake Energy housing site and other PHFA projects in the area. (Click

January 26, 2011 - The Senate Majority Policy Committee held a hearing in
Harrisburg regarding the impacts of natural gas development in the Marcellus
Shale region to help determine how to develop policy to best regulate the
industry in a responsible manner. (Click on
