2009 - The following editorial appeared in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette
urging the governor and legislature to reduce spending and oppose tax hikes in
this year’s proposed budget. This is the position Senator Yaw has taken
throughout budget negotiations. He has consistently opposed an increase in the
personal income tax and is urging passage of a fiscally responsible state budget
that includes no new taxes, holds the line on spending and continues to fund
