April 13, 2013 - On April 13th, a ceremony was held in Williamsport to honor 21
year old United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Abram Howard, who died on
July 27, 2010 from injuries sustained in an ambush while on patrol in the
Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Legislation was passed during the 2012-13
session, which designated the Duboistown Bridge, carrying State Route 2064 over
the Susquehanna River between Williamsport and Duboistown, as the "Lance
Corporal Abram Howard Memorial Bridge." (Click on photo for additional photo from this event)

April 11, 2013 - The Lycoming County Landfill Gas to Energy
Project with its partners; PPL Renewable Energy (PPLRE) and Federal Bureau of
Prisons (FBOP) were awarded with 2012 Project of the Year honors in the category
of electrical and thermal production and the collaborative way in which the
renewable energy project was deployed to benefit our government through creative
permit and power purchase agreement structure which contributed to the success
of this project. The Lycoming County Commissioners accepted this recognition and
were joined by Senator Yaw and their partners, PPLRE and FBOP to commemorate
this achievement.

April 3, 2013 - Senator Yaw joined PA Secretary of
Transportation Barry Schoch, Sandra Tosca, P.E. District 3-0 Executive and
Representative Garth Everett to endorse a plan dedicating over half-billion
dollars towards the completion of the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation

March 26, 2013 - Senator Yaw and Senator Dominic Pileggi unveil the Natural Gas
Consumer Access Act during a morning press conference on the campus of the
Pennsylvania College of Technology. |
March 26, 2013 - Senator Yaw and Senator Dominic Pileggi attend a training
exercise at the new Energy Technology Education Center for volunteer
firefighters and other EMS workers. The training site located just south of
Williamsport, is the first of its kind in Pennsylvania. It is a joint venture
among Penn College, the Lycoming County Dept. of Public Safety and natural gas
