Media Advisory Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee to Hold Hearing on Issues Affecting Third-Class Cities

The Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee will hold a hearing to listen to testimony on issues affecting third-class cities, according to committee Chairman Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) and Senator Lloyd Smucker (R-13).

The hearing will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11th, in the Southern Market Center, in Lancaster.

Among those scheduled to testify at the hearing are representatives of the City of Lancaster, City of York, City of Lebanon, Lancaster General Hospital, Pennsylvania Economy League, Spanish American Civic Association, Lancaster County Association of Realtors and the Department of Community and Economic Development.  Issues being discussed involve blight and revitalization, affordable housing, and city finances.

Because of time constraints, there will not be an opportunity for a public comment period.  However, written testimony will be accepted by the committee.  The public can also submit comments at senatorgeneyaw.com following the hearing.
