Environmental Education Grants Announced by DEP

Senator Gene Yaw, R-Lycoming, has learned that three Environmental Educational Grants have been made recently by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

Yaw said these awards include:

  • $2,800 to the Lycoming County Conservation District.  The funds will be used to coordinate wetland workshops for elementary and secondary level teachers;
  • $6,426 to the East Lycoming School District to implement an environmental education course with a focus on sustainable energy sources and technologies and;
  • $3,750 to the SEDA-COG to be used to enable the Energy Resource Center to coordinate educational seminars as part of its Building Green and Energizing Our Region Seminar series.
