Yaw to Host Breakfast ‘Meetings on Agriculture’

HARRISBURG – State Senator Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming) will be hosting two events designed to listen to concerns and share ideas for improving agricultural conditions throughout the Northern Tier.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2011, 8AM – 9:30AM, Yaw will host a meeting at the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Co., 2311 Route 54 Highway, Montgomery, PA 17752 (Lycoming County). The event will feature the Honorable George Greig, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, as well as Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board Member Lynda Bowman.

On Thursday, September 1, 2011, 8AM – 9:30AM, Yaw will host a second meeting at the Wysox Volunteer Fire Company, 111 Lake Road, Wysox, PA 18854 (Bradford County). The event will feature Doug Goodlander, Conservation Program Manager for the State Conservation Commission, as well as Tom Murphy, Extension Educator at Penn State University and Co-Director of the Penn State Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research.

“This event, at no cost to those attending, is designed to listen to the concerns and answer questions on how to improve the agricultural conditions throughout our region,” Yaw said. “I look forward to the friendly dialogue and exchange of ideas.”
