MEDIA ADVISORY Yaw to Host ‘Breakfast Meetings on Agriculture’

HARRISBURG – State Senator Gene Yaw (R-Bradford/Lycoming/Sullivan/Susquehanna and Union counties) will be hosting two events designed to listen to concerns and share ideas for improving agricultural conditions in the 23rd Senatorial District.

On Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 8AM – 9:30AM, Yaw will host a meeting at the Wysox Volunteer Fire Company, 111 Lake Road, Wysox, PA 18854 (Bradford County). The event will feature Mike Lovegreen of the Bradford County Conservation District, as well as Mark Madden of the Penn State Extension Office.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2012, 8AM – 9:30AM, Yaw will host a second meeting at the Country Cupboard Restaurant, 101 Hafer Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837 (Union County). The event will feature the Honorable George Greig, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, as well as Bill Wehry, State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency.

“Both events are designed to listen to concerns and answer questions on how to improve agricultural conditions throughout our region,” Yaw said. “I often receive many questions on dairy policy and dairy pricing, crop insurance, flood repair, farm transportation and Marcellus Shale. These meetings are intended to create a friendly dialogue and exchange of ideas on all of these topics and many more.”
