Yaw Announces Temporary Change to Towanda Office Schedule

HARRISBURG – State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) today announced that hours of operation for his Towanda District office, 1 Elizabeth Street, Suite 13, will be changed effective January 11, 2013.

The new Towanda office schedule will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The office will be temporarily closed on Fridays through the months of January and February. Beginning March 1, 2013 the office will return to normal business hours Monday through Friday. Constituents are encouraged to contact the office by calling (570) 265-7448, via fax at (570) 268-4313, or by emailing Senator Yaw at gyaw@pasen.gov.

“Constituent service has been one of my top priorities while serving in the state Senate,” Yaw said. “The temporary change comes as a result of an office reorganization and restructuring due to a decrease in staff available to assist with constituent related inquiries. I am confident this is a short-term disruption of services.”

Yaw said that his district offices offer a wealth of information on valuable state resources, including property tax and rent rebate applications, PACE applications, higher education grant applications, state brochures and public service information, state ID cards, renewal applications for vehicle and license registrations and other PENNDOT paperwork. The district offices also provide information and updates on legislation, as well as copies of state laws and pending legislation.

In addition to the Towanda District office, Yaw also maintains offices in Williamsport and Harrisburg. Hours at these locations will not change.

For more information, residents are encouraged to visit Yaw’s online office at www.senatorgeneyaw.com to contact the senator electronically or by calling toll free at 1-800-443-5772.
