Bradford County Conservation District to Receive State Grant

HARRISBURG – The Bradford County Conservation District will soon be the recipient of a state grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to assist with waterway remediation, according to State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23).

The grant of $47,614 will be used for design and construction to eliminate erosion threats to structures from Jerome Creek, Orwell Township and North Branch Sugar Creek, Columbia Township in Bradford County.

“This infusion of state dollars will help Bradford County continue to repair and maintain local waterways and ensure that they are stronger and better equipped to prevent further erosion,” Yaw said. “I commend the Bradford County Conservation District, under the leadership of Mike Lovegreen, for their hard work and commitment to remediating these sites. It is certainly gratifying to see this state funding dedicated to both of these important projects.”

Funding is being made available through DEP’s Bureau of Waterways Engineering and Wetlands.
