Honoring Chuck Dillon on His Retirement

We recently honored Chuck Dillon of my Wellsboro Office on his retirement after a remarkable 18-year career serving the people of Tioga County as a Senate field representative.

Chuck has worked under three senators, including myself, and his dedication to helping local governments navigate state processes—especially when it comes to securing grants—has made a real difference for our region. His passion for public service, sense of humor and steady presence have earned him respect across the board. The 23rd District will certainly miss him.

I wish Chuck and his wife Sue the very best in his next chapter!

Proud to Support Pro-Jobs, Pro-Growth Policies

I’m proud to share that I recently received a 100% voting record from the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry for the 2024-25 legislative session—recognizing my consistent support for pro-jobs and pro-growth policies.

Pennsylvania is the best place to live, work and raise a family and I’m committed to making sure our state continues to grow and thrive. That’s why I’ve sponsored key legislation this session to support our energy sector, defend consumer choice and protect small businesses and veterans’ organizations from crushing taxes on legal skill video games.

I appreciate the Chamber’s recognition and their continued advocacy for Pennsylvania’s business community.

Groundbreaking Held for Williamsport Lumber Yards Sports Complex

On Friday, I joined the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce and many local community leaders and elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Williamsport Lumber Yards – a major new outdoor baseball and softball complex located in the home of Little League Baseball.

This project is more than just a sports facility. It’s a game-changer for our local economy and a bold step toward revitalizing a long-vacant site. Once completed, the complex will attract thousands of visitors, support local businesses and give our young athletes a first-class place to play and grow.

Located near Pennsylvania College of Technology, the Lumber Yards are slated to open in early 2026. I was glad to work alongside state and local leaders to help secure funding for this exciting development.

149th Annual Troy Fair

I had a great afternoon at the 149th Annual Troy Fair in Bradford County. The fair is a wonderful showcase for our state, especially for food and agriculture. This year, Tri-County Electric Cooperative (REC) hosted its annual meeting and member appreciation day there on July 22nd.

Tri-County REC’s leadership is embracing innovation and making major strides in infrastructure upgrades across Tioga and Bradford counties. These improvements mean more reliable service and quicker response times for nearly 3,000 members.

Upcoming NAP in Action Seminar

Please join me and my team for a seminar to discuss the Neighborhood Assistance Program, also known as NAP. A representative from the Department of Community and Economic Development will be joining us to highlight this tax credit program, which is designed to encourage businesses to invest in projects that improve distressed areas of their communities through non-profit agencies.

Bradford/Sullivan County Farm Bureau Holds Annual Picnic

The annual Bradford/Sullivan County Farm Bureau Meeting and Picnic was held on Friday, July 11th. Janenne Goliash of my Williamsport office attended the picnic and was able to connect with many community leaders and farmers from across our region.

Bringing Books to Life at Trout Run Park

Lycoming County’s first permanent “Book Walk,” located at Trout Run Park, recently marked its official opening with a ribbon cutting. Elizabeth Vollman of my Williamsport office was there to celebrate this creative project, which brings together literacy and the great outdoors.

The walk features pages from Otto and the Sun displayed along the trail to encourage families to read together while enjoying nature. It’s a simple but powerful way to promote learning and healthy outdoor activity for all ages.

Congratulations to the James V. Brown Library, the First Community Foundation Partnership and all who helped make this vision a reality.

Connecting with Local Senior Citizens

On Friday, Rep. Tina Pickett hosted her annual Senior Expo in Bradford County. Janenne Goliash of my Williamsport office joined dozens of exhibitors in attendance and connected with many local senior citizens on the issues most important to them.

America250 PA Celebrates “PA Day 2025”

America250PA recently partnered with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and local food banks across the state to commemorate Pennsylvania Day 2025. The event engaged community volunteers and showcased Pennsylvania’s fantastic people, places and businesses.

Matt Wise and Janenne Goliash of my Williamsport office participated at the Central PA Food Bank in Williamsport alongside several local agencies and commissioners from Lycoming and Sullivan counties.

Bill to Expand Body Camera Use for Law Enforcement Passes Senate

To boost safety and accountability, the Senate passed legislation to expand the use of body-worn cameras to additional law enforcement personnel. The measure was sent to the House of Representatives for consideration.

Senate Bill 520 authorizes the use of body cameras by special agents with the Office of Attorney General, rangers with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and officers and deputies with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Fish and Boat Commission.

The bill also modernizes the legal framework for body camera usage to ensure consistency in how footage is recorded and managed, regardless of the department using it.

New Law Protects Users of Virtual Currency

We passed a new law to protect the increasing number of Pennsylvanians using virtual currency, such as Bitcoin.

Act 7 of 2025 requires transmission of virtual currency to be treated similar to money transmission under state law. As more citizens use virtual currencies, the criminal element has increasingly focused on using this platform to evade prosecution.

Pennsylvania will join 26 other states regulating virtual currency under their money transmitter acts so individuals can engage with virtual currencies at their own discretion with consumer safeguards in place.

Flooded Roads: Turn Around, Don’t Drown

More than half of flood-related drownings occur when a vehicle is driven into flood water. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars.

Please play it safe and don’t drive around barricades on flooded roads. Never willingly walk, swim or drive through flood waters. Turn around, don’t drown.
