BREAKING: Yaw, Flick, Owlett Announce Multimodal Funding for Local Projects

I am pleased to announce that several local projects were awarded state funding through Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The awards were considered at yesterday’s CFA Board meeting and approved through the Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) program.

Maintaining and improving our roads, bridges, and local streetscapes is an essential component of ensuring the safety and mobility of residents and other commuters who travel them each day. I was pleased to work with Rep. Flick, Rep. Owlett, and our local officials to help make this funding a reality. Read more HERE…

Update on Frontier Settlement

Recently, the proposed settlement in the case involving service and outage complaints against Frontier Communications in Tioga and Bradford Counties has been recommended to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) for approval by the two administrative judges on the case.

The settlement was negotiated in response to a formal complaint filed by the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA) and Office of Small Business Advocate (OSBA) against Frontier last year for its failure to provide reliable service to residential and business customers.

Supporting Firefighters, Community Safety

Applications for the federal Fire Prevention and Safety Grant and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant programs will be accepted until Friday, April 12. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is offering webinars to assist in the process.

The Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grants support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. The primary goal is to reduce injury and prevent death among high-risk populations.

SAFER Grants were created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, front-line firefighters available in their communities. SAFER’s goal is to enhance the local fire departments’ abilities to comply with staffing, response and operational standards.
