“Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force! You are about to embark upon a great crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you.” – Dwight Eisenhower
Remembering Pearl Harbor
On this date 77 years ago, Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japanese forces, leaving over 2,400 casualties and pushing the U.S. to join the Allies in World War II. Let us never forget those who lost their lives on that fateful day.
Today, Pearl Harbor remains an active military base, Headquarters of the Pacific Fleet, and a National Historic Landmark. From the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor that started it all, to the surrender of the Japanese on the deck of the mighty Battleship Missouri, Pearl Harbor and its historic sites tell the story of the War in the Pacific, commemorating the accomplishments of a previous generation.

State Grant Awarded to Improve Bradford County Airport
A $273,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will support the improvement of the Bradford County Airport.
The grant is earmarked to improve and expand the existing fuel farm for aviation gasoline at the site. The airport serves as an asset to the businesses and residents of Bradford County; and local, regional and national aviation consumers. I’m glad that the Administration approved this important funding.
The airport was one of 26 facilities across Pennsylvania sharing $6.2 million in grants during the current round of funding from PennDOT’s Aviation Development Program and Multimodal fund.
Free Naloxone Distribution Dec. 13
Naloxone kits will be distributed for free between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM unless otherwise noted on December 13 at the locations below. No appointments are necessary.
Naloxone is a medication that can reverse an overdose caused by an opioid by blocking the effects of opioids on the brain. Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine issued a standing order prescription to any Pennsylvanian to get naloxone at a pharmacy for anyone who may need it.
In addition to being able to get naloxone for free on Dec. 13, it is available at most pharmacies across the state year-round. Naloxone is available to many with public and private insurance at pharmacies for free or at a low cost.
Additional information on Stop Overdoses Week and naloxone can be found on the state’s website at www.pa.gov/opioids us on Facebook and Twitter.
