Senator Yaw Recognizes NTRPDC Executive Director on Upcoming Retirement

TOWANDA – Kevin Abrams, longtime executive director for the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, was recognized by area elected officials and colleagues on Thursday during a retirement celebration in Towanda.

“I applaud Kevin for his years of loyalty and service to the Commission,” Senator Yaw said.  “He has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to our region and its residents for 29 years, and I offer my best wishes to him on his retirement. 

Mr. Abrams began his career as a Planner II with the North Central Regional Planning and Development Commission in 1980. He was appointed as Director of the Elk County Planning Commission in 1983 and held that position until being named Executive Director of the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, the position from which he is retiring, in 1993.  He has served on numerous Boards of Directors for economic development and the communities of the Northern Tier, including the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau, Visit Potter-Tioga, the Endless Mountains Heritage Region, the PA Route 6 Heritage Corporation, the Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce, the Mansfield University Foundation, the Mansfield Downtown Development Corporation, the Pennsylvania Rural Development Council and the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association.

In addition to Senator Yaw, Senator Lisa Baker; PA State Representative Tina Pickett; Deb Rudy representing Senator Cris Dush, Erick Coolidge, Tioga County Commissioner and many others were in attendance.
