HARRISBURG – State. Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) and State Rep. Tina Pickett (R-110) announced $205,600 was recently awarded in Bradford County for the rehabilitation of the Wysox Community Park Boat Launch along the Susquehanna River. The funding was approved through the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s Boating Facility Grant Program.
“Improving the Wysox Community Park Boat Launch is an important investment in outdoor recreation in our region,” Yaw said. “This funding will enhance public access to the Susquehanna River and support the residents, sportsmen and visitors who rely on it for year-round enjoyment.”
“The Wysox Community Park Boat Launch is a community staple,” said Pickett. “I am so happy to see that grant dollars will be awarded to update, improve and enhance the current launch and surrounding area – which will guarantee many more years of use and recreation for the families and individuals of the 110th District.”
The Wysox Community Park Boat Launch was one of 16 projects awarded funding through the 2024 grant round. The project includes regrading and replacing the existing motorboat launch, as well as paving portions of the parking lot and turn around areas.
The Boating Facility Grant Program provides grants for the planning, acquisition, development, expansion and rehabilitation of public boating facilities located on the waters of the commonwealth. The goal of the program is to ensure Pennsylvania’s recreational boaters have the highest quality boating facilities.
