Bradford and Sullivan Counties Awarded DEP Grants

(HARRISBURG)  Bradford and Sullivan Counties will each receive grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to aid in recycling efforts, according to Senator Gene Yaw, R-Lycoming.

Under the County Recycling Coordinator Grant Program of Act 101, each will receive money to reimburse 50 percent of its respective county coordinators position.

Yaw said that Bradford County will receive $29,589.53 and Sullivan County will receive $24,522.38.

“Recycling coordinators are very important to the community recycling effort and to helping to reuse valuable resources,” Yaw said.  “In addition to coordinating the scheduling of the various mandatory and volunteering programs across their respective counties, these individuals also reach out to the public with an educational focus on why recycling is important.”
