The Penn State Cooperative Extension will be holding two “How to Interpret Pre and Post Gas Drilling Water Test Reports” Workshops, according to Senator Gene Yaw (R-23). The goal of the workshops is to help residents better understand the results from the water testing being done before and after drilling in the Marcellus Shale commences in their area. The workshops will cover what drinking water expectations should be, water test parameters and what the numbers mean once they receive the results.
“It is important to get as much information in the hands of landowners as possible,” Yaw said. “Workshops such as these let the residents with wells being drilled near them know what they should be looking for when it comes to protecting their property and especially their vital supply of drinking water.”
The workshops will be held at the following times and locations:
