Yaw Announces County Recycling Grants

HARRISBURG – State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) today announced that two counties in the 23rd Senatorial District will receive state funding to continue promoting recycling programs.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Susquehanna County will receive $23,501.40 and Union County will receive $21,372.73 under the County Recycling Coordinator Grant Program of Act 101 of 1988.

Yaw said these amounts are reimbursements to the counties to assist in paying for their recycling programs.

“Support for recycling and waste reduction efforts at the local level is making a tremendous difference across Pennsylvania,” Yaw said. “With assistance from the municipalities and counties receiving Act 101 grants, we can further reduce our pollution risks and conserve our natural resources.”
