Sen. Yaw to Host ‘Breakfast Meeting on Agriculture’

HARRISBURG — State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) will host his annual “Breakfast Meeting on Agriculture” tomorrow, September 14th, from 8AM – 9:30AM, at the Troy Sale Barn, 50 Ballard Street, Troy, Bradford County.

The featured speaker for the event will be Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Agriculture Russell C. Redding.

Governor Tom Wolf nominated Secretary Redding to serve as the 26th Secretary of Agriculture for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in January 2015, and was confirmed by the Senate on May 14, 2015.  Redding is the former dean of the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at Delaware Valley College.

“This annual breakfast meeting is designed to listen to concerns and answer questions on how to improve agricultural conditions throughout our region,” Yaw said.  “I often receive many questions on dairy policy and dairy pricing, crop insurance, flood repair, and other farm-related topics.  These meetings are intended to create a friendly dialogue and exchange of ideas.  I’m also pleased that Sec. Redding will be joining us for the event.”
Members of the agriculture community throughout Bradford, Sullivan and Susquehanna counties have been invited to participate.
