Senator Yaw Joins Susquehanna County Township Officials During 109th Annual Convention

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) yesterday joined officials representing townships of the second class in Susquehanna County for their 109th Annual County Convention at the Montrose Bible Conference.

The purpose of the annual convention was to provide township officials with up-to-date information to help them better serve their constituents and give them an opportunity to exchange ideas on local government issues.  The convention featured a wide range of speakers, including Sen. Yaw and Rep. Tina Pickett, who both expressed their appreciation to local officials for their support.  Both Yaw and Pickett will no longer represent the county due to legislative redistricting beginning December 1, 2022.  Additionally, Senator Lisa Baker and Rep. Jonathan Fritz also provided a legislative update.  Joe Gerdes, Director of Government Relations, State Association of Township Supervisors, the Susquehanna County Commissioners, and more, discussed issues affecting townships of the second class, association programs and services for townships, as well as issues of major importance to townships and their residents.

The Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors represents Pennsylvania’s 1,455 townships of the second class.
