Yaw’s Pro-Jobs, Pro-Growth Voting Record Scores 100%

HARRISBURG – Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) once again earned a legislative voting score of 100% from the PA Chamber of Business and Industry for his consistent support of pro-jobs and pro-growth policies in 2025.

“I believe Pennsylvania is the best place to live in this country and want to see it grow and prosper,” Yaw said. “I am honored by the chamber’s recognition and appreciate their advocacy on behalf of our business community.”

This session, Yaw has sponsored and championed several key pro-business initiatives including his “Energy Choice” legislation to limit municipal entities from banning a specific type of fuel source for appliances and heating homes or businesses and legislation to establish an Independent Energy Office in Pennsylvania. His legislation to repeal the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) carbon tax was implemented this week as part of the 2025-26 state budget.

Additionally, Yaw recently introduced a bipartisan bill to protect small businesses and veterans’ organizations from crushing taxes on legal skill video games. Building on legislation he has championed over several sessions, the proposal seeks to establish a clear regulatory framework for these games, which are a vital source of supplemental income for many local establishments.

The chamber also scored Yaw’s career legislative voting record at 98%. Yaw was first elected to represent the 23rd senatorial district in 2008 and has spearheaded over two dozen bills, dating back to the Rendell administration, that would eventually become law.
