HARRISBURG – The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee will join members of the Ohio House of Representatives Public Utilities Committee, the Ohio House of Representatives Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and the Ohio Senate Energy and Public Utilities Committee, for a hearing on Thursday, Feb. 1st at 10 a.m. to focus on energy reliability, sustainability, and affordability.
The hearing will take place in room 313 of the Ohio State House, 1 Capitol Square, Columbus, OH.
Testifiers will include Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, Asim Haque, PJM Interconnection Senior Vice President of State & Member Services, Jennifer French, Public Utilities Commission of Ohio chair, Jim Robb, President and CEO of North America Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and others.
The hearing will be the second of two to take place between the legislatures, the first being held in Pittsburgh this past November and focusing on interstate relationships within the PJM Grid. In July, committee members of majority parties in both states convened at Pennsylvania’s Capitol Building in Harrisburg to discuss PJM and the reliability of the mid-Atlantic power grid it manages, its infrastructure, and to provide an update on the future outlook of the region’s power production. The committee chairmen were also among testifiers at an August meeting of PJM’s Board of Managers.
